Mar 16, 2006 Location. None of the above listed solutions worked. For a while I had no idea where it even was. Then, when I was in a cell with a lot of text, the end part of the text was showing at the top of my screen, so I realized that the top of the formula bar (the draggable part) was hidden way off-screen--it was impossible to drag. To get the latest update, open Excel for Mac, go to the Help > Check for Updates menu, and follow the instructions in the AutoUpdate app. For the most recent information on this issue, go to Problem opening files or folders via hyperlinks in Excel 2016 for Mac. When I use a text box in excel, while I type, the entire text box disappears until I stop typing. Very annoying for obvious reasons. Not only is it distracting, but you can't see what you're typing until you stop.
Apr 16, 2018 When you create a table in Microsoft Excel for Mac and copy it into a new email message in Microsoft Outlook for Mac, the table is pasted into the email without any borders. Cause This is a known issue in Office 2011 for Mac and Office 2016 for Mac. Using an old excel form to keep text comment (don't ask why), and I will select the cell to view text, then click into a cell to copy the text. Later upon returning to the cell a portion of the text is missing.
Hi Tom,
Please provide us more information:
1) Are you facing this issue with a specific file or all files?
2) Are you working on a domain or on a network?
Please try Excel in safe mode and check if issue persists or not.
To do that, close Excel. Click on Start> All Programs> Accessories> Run, and in the open box type in Excel /safe and hit ok. Note: There is a space between Excel and /.
If the application works fine safe mode, try disabling the add-ins for the application and check the result:
- Click on the File tab.
- Go to Options.
- Click Add-ins.
- In the Manage section, select COM Add-ins and click on Go.
- Now uncheck the Add-ins and click on OK.
Please post to us if you need any further assistance with Office and we will assist you.
Thank you.

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to read and reply to my question.
Sometimes I open a file on the network, sometimes not. It does not seem to matter while spreadsheet I open.
I can try opening Excel in safe mode but the problem only occurs occasionally - maybe 3 or 3 times a week.
Thanks,
Tom.

Excel For Mac 16 Cell No Text Disappears On Iphone
Thanks for your feedback.
Actually, when I opened the file in safe mode, everything disappears. The spreadsheet becomes completely blank. Previously, text was visible when selected.
